The girl with the black dress and turquoise bike:
If you go to Governors Island with Google Street View, you'll see a girl with a black dress and turquoise bike driving in front of the Street View camera.
Huh.
I tried to google some more information, but could not find anything more: So this is all I could figure out so far ....

[Update] Thanks to a comment, I found this with many more images – but no explanation though.
I don't know if you have noticed but there is something wierd with this girl. If you follow her on Craig road toward north, sometimes the raod is wet sometimes the road is dry, sometimes there are some sunshine sometimes not, sometimes there are other rides or passers by who vanished from on picture to the next one.
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure she is a girl working for Google or at least working with the guy driving the google car !
ReplyDeleteYou can seem something similar with the "normal" Streetview – I guess the images are taken with several sessions over a longer time span, so I guess this is nothing specific for here.
ReplyDeleteWith the girl here: In the las rainy/dark image on Craig road, she is signaling to go to the right into Hay Road – and with the next dry/sunny image on Craig road she continues onwards on Craig road. I guess these are images from (at least) two sessions.
Yeah, but the question is why is the girl there? Does she know the way (and is she needed like some kind of a navigator)? Or is she there "just because"?
ReplyDeleteFound out about her exploring governors island on Google maps.
ReplyDeleteGot curious and found this article:

The photo was taken at this moment, probably by the guy on the bike in the white shirt.

Maybe the woman is Leslie Koch, described in the article inviting Google to governors island.
